2017 Art Projects

The artwork shown below are individual, visual representations of local 8th, 9th, and 10th graders, otherwise known as the 2017 Big Read Youth Leaders. Pictured below are silhouette self-portraits of those Youth Leaders, College Volunteers, and staff. Together, the "Big Read Family" created these self-portraits during the Youth Leadership camp in August. Using their shadows and objects that matter to them, each individual designed his or her pose, brushed with watercolor, and incorporated words and images that represented their identities as well as their experience with Albion's Big Read.
